Terms and conditions
Last updated September 17, 2026
These terms apply to your use of Retroloop (“we”, “us”), the retrospective board service at www.retroloop.app. By creating an account or using Retroloop, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service
Retroloop lets teams run sprint retrospectives on shared, live boards: writing cards, grouping them, voting and keeping time together. We may change, add or remove features as the service develops.
Your account
- You need an account to create or join a board. Give us accurate details and keep your email address up to date.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use Retroloop.
- Keep your password and devices secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account, and you should tell us at contact@retroloop.app if you think someone else has accessed it.
- If you use Retroloop for your employer or another organisation, you confirm you're allowed to do so.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.
Boards and invite links
- The person who creates a board is its host. Hosts can reveal cards, open and close voting, change the board's settings, remove any card and delete the board.
- A board's link is its invite: anyone with an account who opens the link joins the board and can see everything on it. Share the link only with people you want on the board.
- Cards are blurred on other members' screens until the host reveals them. This is a facilitation aid, not a confidentiality measure. Don't put secrets, passwords or sensitive personal data on a board.
- If a host deletes their account, hosting passes to another member. If a board has no other members, it's deleted.
Your content
You own what you write on Retroloop. You give us permission to store, copy and display it only as needed to run the service, for example to show your cards to the members of your boards. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies that remain in backups for a limited time.
You're responsible for your content and must have the right to post it. GIFs you attach come from GIPHY and are subject to GIPHY's terms.
Acceptable use
Don't use Retroloop to:
- post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- share other people's personal data without a lawful reason;
- try to access accounts or boards you haven't been invited to, or get around security measures or rate limits;
- disrupt or overload the service, or access it with bots or scrapers;
- send spam or malware.
We may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to respond.
Third-party services
Some features rely on other services: Google for Google sign-in, GIPHY for GIFs and DiceBear for avatars. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to how they work, and we're not responsible for them. Our privacy policy explains what data they receive.
Availability
We work to keep Retroloop running and your data safe, but we provide the service “as is” and “as available”. We can't promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors, and live updates sent while your connection is down may need a moment to catch up. Keep your own copy of anything important from a board.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, data or business opportunities, arising from your use of Retroloop. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or wilful misconduct, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Ending your use
You can stop using Retroloop and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or stop offering the service. If we stop the service, we'll give reasonable notice where we can.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant we'll let you know before it takes effect. If you keep using Retroloop after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree with them, you can delete your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law, and disputes go to the courts of Portugal. If you're a consumer in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring claims in its courts.
